Warhorse was our temporary band name for the weekend. Set ourselves towards our destination knowing very well we were more like the indie rock version of Spinal Tap than anything else. We visited Olympia, Portland, and Seaside. We weren’t Boo’d at all because we weren’t even yielding instruments this trip. It was merely a topic of conversation and a remembrance to what it means and what it is. Here are some brief highlights of the drive down.
Stink Steak.Car Farts.Dancing Hippy Lady.Drunkards.Wanting to Spend Quarters but resisting. Floating Worlds. The Garage in Tacoma- Always a feast for the eyes.Wanting to go to Voodoo Donuts but not wanting to wait 3 hours for a tasty pastry.A 15yr-old GooGooDolls impersonator with face paint.( we wanted to punch him in the balls but he was already singing too high. )A tall cowboy with long hair petitioning for Legal Marijuana.Miles and Milo Stickies everywhere.Coffee.A search for Wi-Fi connections leading the the results: Lucifer/Muff Mansion.A few vw buses- I’m pretty sure everyone was sick of my lust.Water.Trees.More Trees. Some mo water. We listened to some S.Carey. Soundgarden. Jawbreaker.Land of Talk. Oh Brother, and some other shit I can’t remember right now and all successfully refused to spend money in the record stores- which is a remarkable feat if you ask me.I bought a toy bus. Duh.I think Kevin was the only one that bought a book at Powells Books. Which is more maze than book store. I should have bought this though. There’s probably a lot more to say about this venture but the photographs are more telling  of the feel of it all. Theres a second part to this that will be up sometime soon.
Thanks for coming out Steve/Kevin. Enjoy the photos.
